Ladies, You probably noticed that on the POD post, I indicated the Closest to the Hole on #8 was "messed up again". Let me explain what is going on.
The past couple of years we have had some non-league golfers write various real or made up names on the Closest to the Hole markers and then put them real close to the hole. When we encounter these markers, knowing that the person doesn't play on the league, we will pull the marker(s) and dq the hole from competition. This most always happens in the morning or early afternoon.
We have talked to Sun Hills and asked if the would try to mention to casual players on Wednesdays that there are these markers out on certain par 3 holes and to please not mess with them. We know that it is pretty hard for them to be able to tell everyone, so we are asking you to help as well.
What we would ask you to do is check the name on the Closest to the Hole marker and see if it is a man's name or any name that doesn't belong to a lady on our league. If this is the case, and you are on the green, put your name on the marker and put it where your ball is. If you need to call the club house and verify the name, please do so. Since this usually does happen earlier, we hope you ladies who play then can catch it.
Thanks for your help in this matter.
