MEMBER GUEST JUNE 10th

Ladies, 

 Member/Guest is rapidly approaching.  The sign-up sheet is at Sun Hills.  Since the weather has made it difficult to have consistent weekly play, this is to remind you to please sign-up this week.  Michelle and her team are planning another delicious meal for our enjoyment.  They need to know how many will be in attendance so they can be prepared.

Please try to find a guest to bring with you.  BUT, if your golfing friends are who you play with, just sign up with them and come out anyway.  We want as many of our league as possible to play.  

We will be sponsoring a RALLY FOR THE CURE.  So if you care to participate bring a little cash.  We will have some neat baskets to raffle as well.

N.O.S.E - May 27, 2015

Greetings!  We had 14 hardy souls come out and play N.O.S.E. this week.  It was cool out but not raining!  We were able to squeak out two flights of 7!  Here are the nosey winners!  Congrats!!!

Greetings Ladies!  Sorry it has taken me so long to get this posted.  Again, my computer and printer weren't speaking to each other.  Put them in time out and now we're working!

We had 30 ladies come out and try to avoid TROUBLE last week.  Here are the survivors...Comgrats!

TROUBLE! POD for 5/20/2015

Ladies, This week we are playing a new format for POD.  Here is a preview of what to expect.  I think it will be fun!  ENJOY!!

PRO'S TIP OF THE WEEK

Pro's Tip of the Week:

Now that we have water in the ponds we should discuss the options you have when hitting a ball into the hazard. If a water hazard is marked with yellow stakes or lines it is a "Regular Water Hazard" and you have 3 options to play your next shot. If the hazard is marked with red stakes or lines it is a "Lateral Water Hazard" with two additional options. In both cases you have the option to:

 1) Play the ball from the hazard.

 2) Play from where you hit your shot from that went into the hazard, adding 1 penalty shot.

3) Take a drop, keeping the point where your ball crossed the margin of the hazard between you and the hole and go back as far as you like and add a 1 shot penalty.

 If marked Red, you have these 2 other options.

 4) You may drop within 2 club lengths no closer to the hole, from the point the ball crossed the margin of the hazard, adding 1 penalty stroke.

 5) You may drop on the other side of the hazard, within 2 club lengths of the water no closer to the hole. I'm sure this is crystal clear now.....?

 Just remember there is no such thing as dropping back on your "line of flight" that the ball went into the hazard on.

LOW GROSS - May 13, 2015

Greetings!

Hooray!  We got to play this week.  Remarkable!  And there were some remarkable score to go along with it!  There was a mix up on the POD for this week.  It was LOW GROSS.  If there is ever a doubt, use the Big schedule on our bulletin board or the one you all received at the beginning of the year.   Congrats to the winners!!!

LEAGUE PLAY CANCELLED!

Due to Mother Nature, league play has been cancelled to for today.  

With that being said, that old blow hard isn't getting a Mother's Day gift this weekend.  After all, 3 strikes and she's out!!!

Call and get your T-times for next week!

MAY BIRTHDAYS!!!

2nd ANNUAL TWO WOMEN FOUR BALL

Ladies,

The entry period for the 2nd Annual Sun Hills 2-Women Four Ball to be held on June 4th opens today.  We encourage everyone from Sun Hills Ladies to come out and support Sun Hills.  It is $130 ($65 each) per/lady.  This includes Tee Prizes, lunch and a real fun time.

Last year we had quite a few ladies from Sun Hills play.  It's a chance to meet woman golfers from other clubs.

You can find the registration form at UGA.ORG.  Click on "Women's Golf", "Women's Public Schedule", scroll down to June 4th and you will see our tourney.  Click on "View Information" and the form will come up as a pdf file for you to print.

Even though the tournament is at Sun Hills, you MUST MAIL THEM.  DON'T HAND DELIVER THEM TO SUN HILLS!

CHICAGO PUTTS - April 29, 2015

Greetings!  What a beautiful day we had for golf this week!  Again, we had 34 ladies come out and play.  There was some pretty darn good putting done for the "Chicago Putts" POD.  Congrats to the winners!

We also want to thank Mike for the Short Game clinic he gave us.  I know it helped me.  Thanks also to the ladies who participated!  It was a fun time!!!

Pro's Tip of the Week:

How can you get out an impossible lie in a deep bunker? Instead of whacking away in a deep sand bunker, you have 1 option that may save you some strokes as well as your sanity. You may, with a 1 stroke penalty, go back to the spot from where you hit into the bunker and replay the shot from there. (Just make sure you avoid the bunker the next time.) Also, if your ball is in an impossible lie in a sand bunker you have another option as well. You may drop within two clublengths of where your ball lies, in the bunker, with a 1 stroke penalty. But at least you may get the ball to a spot where you can get it out. Best advice...Stay out of the sand!
