CLOSING SOCIAL

Ladies,  As you are aware, the Closing Social will be held on Antelope Island next Wednesday, October 3, 2012.

Tacey has made the arrangements for all of us who signed up for the Social to get onto the Island without charge.  When you get to the gate, just tell them that you are with Sun Hills Ladies Golf Association and you are going to the Grill.

We encourage you all to carpool if you can.  If you meet at the gate, you can leave extra cars in the Davis County parking lot there and buddy up to go in. 

Once you cross the causeway, veer right and stay right.  The grill is located on the beach. 

Please be there NO LATER THAN 5:30.  We will have our business meeting before dinner at 6:00.  We will pass out awards and draw for prizes after dinner.

Bring some cash, because Brenda has put together some really fantastic raffle baskets.  You won't want to miss the opportunity to win one!!!!

BLIND DRAW - September 26, 2012

Well, sadly, all good things must come to an end.  We can say "goodbye" to the 2012 season of Sun Hills Ladies Golf Association Plays of the Day.  We had a light turnout for this last week - 25 ladies.  Since there was an odd number of ladies, we did a "double" blind draw so that Vardell would have a partner.  However, since the "Double" was already in a pairing only Vardell was eligible to win.  Here are the winners!  Congrats!!!

LAST POD - BLIND DRAW

Well, Ladies - Here it is, the last week of league play for the 2012 season.  This week we will be playing "BLIND DRAW, 2 WOMEN BEST BALL".

All you need to do is come out and play.  Please use a separate scorecard for each player.  After play is over, I will have one of the Sun Hills staff randomly match-up scorecards in twosomes.  Then, I will make a "Best Ball" score for each twosome be comparing the score on each hole and the lowest will be the "Best Ball".

As we did the last time we played "Blind Draw", the lowest 7 NET best ball scores will equally share the purse.  NO FLIGHTS.  I plan on handicapping this, but since its rather complicated, I won't explain it here.  If anyone wants to see how the handicapping was done, I will show/explain it at the Closing Social next week!

PICK "5" - September 19, 2012

Can you believe it!  This was the next to the last POD for this season!!!  OMG, where did the summer go?  We had a fairly good turn-out for Pick "5" - 35 ladies.  Thank you all for your continued support.  Congrats to the ladies who managed to pick their "new" favorite clubs!  And the winners are...

FINAL POD

Well, no one has made a request for to play her favorite competition on the last week of golf, September 26th.  Therefore, we will be playing "Blind Draw".  All you have to do is go out and play a normal round of golf. 

Please use a separate scorecard for each lady.  We will have an impartial person draw the parings.  Winners will be based on the handicap for the pair and net total score.

The payout will be equal money for the top 3rd of the field.

RINGER BOOK

The 2012 "Ringer" is officially over.  I will be calculating the winner and she will be announced at the Closing Social.  Thanks to all of you for taking the time to post your scores in the book.  Can't wait to see who wins!!!

DICE ROLL - September 12, 2012

Greetings!  We had 41 ladies come out and try their luck on the ever popular Dice Roll.  As always, some of us shot pretty good and some of us not.  Hopefully, a good time was had by all!  Here are the lucky rollers!

SEPTEMBER 19th - PICK 5

Vardell has requested we play "Pick 5" for the next September fun POD.  For the "Pick 5" format, you will only be allowed to use "5" clubs for that round.  This includes your putter.  So be thinking which 5 clubs you want to take out on September 19th.

DICE ROLL!!

Remember...tomorrow is the ever popular DICE ROLL.  You will be given a die to roll before each tee shot.  There is a paper with the die to let you know what club to tee off with.  Just remember...HAVE FUN!!!  We are all in the same boat!!!

Congratulations to MONA BURKE.  She had a Hole-In-One at Glen Eagle on Friday.  She aced #13 with a Pitching Wedge from the Gold Tees!

SEPTEMBER POD's

Ladies,  As we enter September, we are going to let the members help choose the POD's for the month.  All you need to do is email me (Dodie), leave a request at Sun Hills or comment on this BLOG post.  Unless it is totally out there, we will play your requests on a First Request basis.

I have had a request from Jill Lunceford to play a modified version of "RED, WHITE and BLUE" this coming Wednesday.  This time we will all play from the RED tees on PAR 5's, the WHITE tees on PAR 4's and BLUE tees on PAR 3's.  A cheat sheet will be given out to all players on Wednesday.  This score won't be posted.

So PLEASE get your requests to me ASAP!  If you don't, you will be at my mercy!  OMG...who wants that?!?!

ONE WOMAN SCRAMBLE, August 31, 2012 AMENDED

Greetings!  We had 40 Faithful come out and play our One Woman Scramble on the last Wednesday of August.  From the look of the scores, I'd you and your alter egos get along real well.  There were some terrific scores!  Congrats to the winners!
