We'd like to thank all of you who were very generous last Wednesday and purchased raffle tickets for the quilt we are raffling for the Member/Guest Rally for the Cure.  In just a few hours our ladies generously purchased over $140 worth of tickets.  We will be doing an early ticket sale one more time before the Member/Guest night.  This could be the opportunity for those of you who can't attend that night but would like to purchase raffle tickets.  Remember...for the quilt you DON'T have to be present to win!

Eight Iron

Off the seventh tee, Joe sliced his shot deep into a wooded ravine. He took

his eight iron and clambered down the embankment in search of his lost ball.

After many long minutes of hacking at the underbrush, he spotted something

glistening in the leaves. As he drew nearer, he discovered that it was an

eight iron in the hands of a skeleton!

Joe immediately called out to his friend, "Jack, I've got trouble down here!"

"What's the matter?" Jack asked from the edge of the ravine.

"Bring me my wedge," Joe shouted. "You can't get out of here with

an eight iron.

MEMBER/GUEST, June 13, 2012

Greetings!  The sign-up sheets are out for this year's Member/Guest Scramble and Rally for the Cure.  It will be on June 13th this year.  We need to know by June 6th who all will be playing.  It is a 5:30 shotgun with dinner to follow.  The cost is golf with cart and $3 for EVERYONE.  This includes dinner.

Although we hope everyone can bring a guest, you DON'T NEED TO BRING A GUEST TO COME OUT AND PLAY AND HAVE FUN!

There will be NO RAIN THIS YEAR!  Tacey threatened Mother Nature with unimaginable consequences if there was even 1 dark cloud in the sky.  And even Mother Nature is afraid of her!!!

So sign up soon.  We do have great fun!!!!!

ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Ladies,  We will have the quilt that we are raffling off at the Member/Guest Rally for the Cure at Sun Hills tomorrow so you can buy some raffle tickets.  We will try to have it there for a couple of weeks before the Member/Guest in order to raise money for the Susan G Komen Foundation.  Tickets will be $1 each or 6 for $5.

One Sunday morning, a priest wakes up and decides to go golfing. He
calls his boss and says that he feels very sick, and won't be able
to go to work.
Way up in heaven, Saint Peter sees all this and asks God, "Are you
really going to let him get away with this?" "No, I guess not,"
says God.
The priest drives about five to six hours away, so he doesn't bump
into anyone he knows. The golf course is empty when he gets there.
So he takes his first swing, drives the ball 495 yards away and
gets
a hole in one.
Saint Peter watches in disbelief and asks, "Why did you let him do
that?!!"
To this God says, "Who's he going to tell?"

Greetings!  We had 49 ladies trying to putt lights out this week.  The putting gods were watching over a few ladies.  We had a few real zoned putters.  Congrats to the eagle-eyes winners!

WOW!  We have 55 ladies play this week!  It's amazing what nice weather can do.  Here are the 7th Heaven winners.  Congrats to all.  Just a reminder...as in the past, your winnings will be available to spend at Sun Hills at the end of the month.  So, these winnings will be available to spend at the end of May.

FIRST "15" PRIZE

Hey Ladies,

Remember at the Opening Social we told you that in conjunction with Sun Hills Ladies Golf Association's 15th Anniversary we were going to award random "15" prizes?  Well the time has arrived for the first one.

Since last week's POD was Chicago Putts, what better idea than to give a special prize to anyone who had 15 putts?  We had 2 ladies with 15 putts - Micheller and Judi Tutorow!  Way to go girls!  Your special prizes are waiting for you at the check in desk.

HANDICAP REPORT PROBLEM

When I printed the May 1, 2012 Handicap Report it was discovered that 10 ladies names were dropped from the report.  I have done some research and think I know what the problem is.  It appears that the ladies who were dropped are in the UGA system but don't show a multiple listing status with Sun Hills.  If a player isn't multiple listed at a course that isn't thier home course their name will not show on reports for that course.  I have sent an email to UGA asking them to check this issue out and let me know what needs to be done to fix it.  I will keep you updated when I get an answer back.  In the meantime, I will calculate your Sun Hills handicap based on your index.  Thanks for your patience.

WOW!  We had 52 ladies come out and play this week!  We also had some darn good putting!  Congrats to all you "Eagle Eye" putters!

RINGER BOOK READY!

RINGER INSTRUCTIONS

Ø  Your first round on the front and back will be the base for your ringer score.  The ringer is based on an 18 hole round.

Ø  There will be a Ringer binder at the Ladies Bulletin Board with a page for each member that shows the base score for 18 holes.

Ø  After you have a “Base Round”, compare your current round with the base in the Ringer Book at the Ladies Bulletin Board.

Ø  If you have a score on any hole that is better than the base score, record it in the box under the base score.  Please use pencil.

Ø  After each round compare the scores for each hole with the ringer scores.  Each time you improve, ERASE the previous score and write in the better score.

Ø  At the end of the year, a prize will be given to the round that had the most improvement.

Ø  GOOD LUCK!!!
