Hello from Swing It Again,

First off, I want to thank all of the Sun Hills Ladies Association for supporting Swing It Again for 2012.  Meeting everyone was a really great pleasure for me.  

For the upcoming 2013 year, I want to notify everyone that our lessons prices will be raising to $35 if you purchase in the 2013 year.  But if you purchase your lessons within the 2012 year...your price will still be only $25.  The best part is...no matter how much you purchase in 2012...YOU WILL BE ABLE TO USE YOUR LESSONS IN 2013 AT THE DISCOUNTED RATE!!

This offer goes to all of the Sun Hills Ladies Association members.

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM SUN HILLS

Greetings Ladies,

Sun Hills has asked that we get this important information to out members.  Please read below:

REG WALKING:    $200 to $225
SR WALKING:     $175 to $175 (will stay the same)

REG RIDING:      $325 to $350
SR. RIDING:       $280 to $300

These prices will take effect from January 1, 2013. Therefore, ladies can buy passes at this year's price until December 31, 2012.

HOWEVER...for a limited time, Sun Hills Golf Course will be offering Association Members a special price on Riding Punch Passes. From now through the month of November, Association Members can purchase a Regular Riding Punch Pass for $300 and a Senior Riding Punch Pass for $250. That is $30 off this year’s price and $50 off next years price. Limited to two (2) passes per member. Passes cannot be shared and will only be honored for the person who they are issued to.

Sounds like GREAT idea for Christmas gifts!

NEW LEAGUE BOARD and OTHER SUTFF

Greetings!

For those of you who we unable to attend the Closing Social last night, we'd like to bring you up to date on the business meeting.

First of all, we had a discussion regarding the pros and cons of having our weekly winnings go toward Sun Hills merchandise or gift cards to another business in the area.  The common theme was the ladies wanted more choices rather than just golf items.  After the discussion, we voted 29 to 17 in favor of going back to Target (or some other area business) Cards.  We will amend the league by-laws to allow more flexibility in this area.

We also needed to hold elections for Board officers.  President, Tacey Weaver, Secretary, Marian Tidwell and Handicap Chair, Mindy Troxell all announced that they were no longer able to serve on the Board.  We would like to thank these ladies for all the years they devoted to Sun Hills Ladies Golf Association.  As a result, a full election was required.  The results of the elections are:

President - Vardell Laursen
Secretary/Treasurer - Karen Mitchell
Tournament Chair - Dodie Roberts
Handicap Chair - Judi Tutorow
Prize Chair - Brenda Jorgenson
Social Chair - Vicki Miya

Lastly, Chris announced that Sun Hills was offering special pricing on Titelist ProV1 golf balls, $40/doz, $5 off any apparel and $3 off hats.  He also announced that any winnings any of us may have on the books will be available to spend through next season.  However, he encouraged us to please try to spend it as soon as possible.  He said that if anyone wanted shoes, bags, clubs or other like items, there are still catalogs at the Pro Shop that we can special order from.

Keep an eye on the BLOG.  As most of you know, just because there is no league play doesn't mean there won't be new postings.  If you have anything that you think the league would enjoy, email it to me (Dodie) and I will be happy to share.

Greetings Ladies,  Here are the photos of Sun Hills Ladies 2012 Closing Social.  This year we did something different and held it at The Buffalo Island Grill on Antelope Island.

We had a great social this year.  Brenda got some real nice trophies!  She also put together some GREAT raffle baskets!  Sun Hills gave us a Cleveland Putter and Calaway Stand Bag to draw for.  THANKS!

CLOSING SOCIAL

Ladies,  As you are aware, the Closing Social will be held on Antelope Island next Wednesday, October 3, 2012.

Tacey has made the arrangements for all of us who signed up for the Social to get onto the Island without charge.  When you get to the gate, just tell them that you are with Sun Hills Ladies Golf Association and you are going to the Grill.

We encourage you all to carpool if you can.  If you meet at the gate, you can leave extra cars in the Davis County parking lot there and buddy up to go in. 

Once you cross the causeway, veer right and stay right.  The grill is located on the beach. 

Please be there NO LATER THAN 5:30.  We will have our business meeting before dinner at 6:00.  We will pass out awards and draw for prizes after dinner.

Bring some cash, because Brenda has put together some really fantastic raffle baskets.  You won't want to miss the opportunity to win one!!!!

BLIND DRAW - September 26, 2012

Well, sadly, all good things must come to an end.  We can say "goodbye" to the 2012 season of Sun Hills Ladies Golf Association Plays of the Day.  We had a light turnout for this last week - 25 ladies.  Since there was an odd number of ladies, we did a "double" blind draw so that Vardell would have a partner.  However, since the "Double" was already in a pairing only Vardell was eligible to win.  Here are the winners!  Congrats!!!
